Northampton Area Public Library: Sign up for summer reading program, events at the library

Happy July! The summer months are upon us, and we are ready to host some fun events at the library. Visit us at the Northampton Area Public Library for lots of fun programming for people of all ages. With the summer reading program currently going on, the events are very colorful.

By signing up for summer reading, you will be able to win prizes by tracking your reading progress and earning NAPL bucks to spend. You can also earn NAPL bucks by attending programs, so we hope to see you soon.

Note that you must have a library card with NAPL to sign up for our summer reading program.

The library is closed July 3 in observance of Independence Day.

We have our first teen art workshop of the month, set for 2 p.m. July 7, where the teens will create a plush owl buddy. No sewing experience is needed.

Miss Tessa is having a messy art day, where children can make flyswatter paintings, splatter paintings and much more, 3 p.m. July 10, with a rain date set for July 31.

In July, we will also be having Art in the Parks, where there will be sensory bins and comic creations for all ages.

The first is set for 10:30 a.m. July 12 at Jacksonville Park pavilion in Bath. The second will be held 10:30 a.m. July 19 at Indian Trail Park in Pennsville.

We are having a writing prompts extravaganza, where children will be able to get their creative juices flowing and have some fun writing, set for 3 p.m. July 24.

We’ll be wrapping up the month of July by hosting Mike Familant 6:30 p.m. July 31. He is currently on his Do You Believe Tour. If it’s Sasquatch, he’s seen it.
