Matthew Besz, 56, of Kempton and formerly of Whitehall, died June 22, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Tammy L. (Henry) Besz for 26 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Stephen and Diane (Dougherty) Besz of Coplay.

He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, LCCC and received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University.

He was a professional engineer and worked for PPL the past 15 years. Previously, he worked for Lucent. He also had a government patent for cellphone design while working at Lucent.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Zachariah N.; a brother, Jason and fiancee Erin McIntosh of Bethlehem Township; a sister, Jennifer Peden and husband Ronnie of Sanatoga; a sister-in-law, Ali Henry of Homer City; and nieces and nephew, Kylie and Gabriel and Ava Peden.

Contributions may be made to his son’s educational fund, c/o the funeral home, 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown, 18106.
