The continuing summer concert series will be hosting two concerts this holiday weekend. Social Call will be performing July 3, and The Weekenders will be performing July 4. Both concerts are held 7-10 p.m. at the Catasauqua Park and Playground amphitheater, 501 American St.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

The annual reading of the Declaration of Independence will be taking place July 4 at the George Taylor House, Lehigh and Poplar streets. The day’s events will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Featured will be historical reenactors, music, performances and more, all on the grounds of a Founding Father’s colonial estate.

Catasauqua Garden Club will gather 1 p.m. July 9 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Sue Drabic, a Pennsylvania Master Gardener, will share tales of “plants of mayhem and murder.”

Garden club members will have artistic designs and horticultural exhibits on display for judging. Light refreshments will be served.
