Full-time receptionist to be hired

At the June 18 Hanover Township – Lehigh County Council meeting township manager’s report, Melissa Wehr informed council that the township plans on hiring a full time receptionist. She said applicants to learn more about the role and if interested in possibly applying, should call the township office.

A full receptionist job description is posted on the township website hanleco.org. The township also seeks a part-time Code Enforcement officer. Information on the Code Enforcement position is also online at the township website.

Wehr’s report ended with council approving her suggested Capital Plan meeting for July 16 before the regularly scheduled council meeting that evening that begins at 7 p.m.

Council approved Bill No. 2025-33, which is an ordinance amending Chapter 7, Part 9, Section 902 of the statutory code of Hanover Township to permit the use of wood chip smokers in outdoor cooking. The bill passed or a 3-1 vote with one councilman absent.

Resolution No. 2025-33 was council approved that appoints Peter Backus to the Hanover Township – Lehigh County Township Planning Commission.

A motion was approved by council to review and approve an update to Resolution No. 2024-38 the preliminary/final land development to Provident Group-Lehigh Valley Properties LLC and the Development Advisory LLC, 3337 Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109.

Council approved the Bills for June 18, in the amount of $98,186.36.

Councilman Anthony Rossi raised an issue of concern about people drag racing on Saturday nights in a large parking lot in the township. Council Chair Bruce Paulus instructed Wehr to contact the PA State Police to report the issue.
