LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

The Buffaloes are off to a good start in the Lehigh Valley Legion League.

North Parkland has won three of its first five games in the early going. In its first five games, North Parkland scored 31 runs, including a pair of 11-run games against Lower Macungie and Southern Lehigh.

Against Lower Macungie, six different Buffalo players - Andrew Beers, Gavin Mohry, Evan Newhard, Leo Dauberman, Tsubasa Magota and Steven Sepko – each collected a pair of hits. Mohry and Sepko’s hits were both doubles, and Beers led the team with two RBI and two runs scored in the 11-5 season opener. Dauberman also scored two runs for the Buffs.

Beers had two hits and two runs scored in an 11-1 win against Southern Lehigh as Dauber added three more RBI to his season total and Sepko picked up another double.

On the mound, Magota allowed one earned run over three innings and Aiden Anderson and Aiden Henning both threw a shutout inning in relief.

Among players with 10 plate appearances or more, Beers is leading the team in hitting with a .429 average, followed by Magota (.417) and Dauberman (.385).

Opponents are batting just .184 and the Buffaloes staff has a combined ERA of 2.29 through the first five games of the seasons.

North Parkland has back-to-back games at home against Whitehall-Coplay this week and then plays rival South Parkland in a doubleheader on Monday.

Because of bad weather and a late start as Parkland High School competed in the PIAA tournament, the schedule has seen some changes, and some games have backed up. That means that Monday’s doubleheader starts a stretch of five games in four days for the Buffaloes.
