Students ready for high school in moving-up ceremony

Northampton Area Middle School eighth-grade students celebrated the transition from middle school to high school June 2, 3 and 4.

Eighth-graders celebrated this major accomplishment with their families and friends, officially ending their time as middle school students. When the 2025-26 school year begins in August, these students will begin their academic career at Northampton Area High School.

NAMS Principal Michael Lopata welcomed guests and congratulated students on their accomplishments. Beginning the program on a high note, student Tianna Shammus sang our national anthem, as music teacher Brad Steigerwalt provided keyboard instrumental.

Parents, guests and administration excitedly anticipated the procession of students and the hearing of their names to accept the moving-up certificate.

Awards and student honors were acknowledged with appropriate accolades as students celebrated this educational milestone.
