No Kings Day refers to nationwide protests held June 14 coinciding with a military parade in Washington, D.C., Donald Trump’s 79th birthday and Flag Day. These protests were intended to demonstrate against Trump’s policies and what they perceive as authoritarian behavior. The protests were held in various cities across the country. The protests’ name, “No Kings,” is a direct response to the perception that Trump’s actions and policies are akin to those of a king, rather than a democratically elected president.
Residents make signs showing issues important to them.
U.S. Congressman Ryan Mackenzie’s office, 125 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, is the target for the peaceful protest June 14.
Members of Salisbury Township Police Department, Eastern Salisbury Fire Department and Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company are on call during the protests.
Protesters line both sides of Cedar Crest Boulevard June 14 outside of Mackenzie’s office.
