SHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I just graduated from Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My family consists of my parents, Kris and Al along with my dog, Charlie.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science. I enjoy science because everything has a reason and explanation applying to real-world principles.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I received student of the month a handful of times along with a student of the quarter at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute. I was also elected to be the LCTI student representative for the Salisbury School Board for the past three years. Throughout my high school cross country career, I received the Coach’s Award and the Character Athlete Award.

Q. Were you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I was involved in cross country during the fall, swimming and ski club in the winter and track and field in the spring. I’m a member of National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I plan to attend Penn State and pursue a master’s degree in civil engineering.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. The biggest challenge I’ve faced so far was trying to manage my academic classes at Salisbury and attending my pre-engineering class at LCTI. With my plans to attend college, I had to take some more classes at Salisbury than other LCTI students. This made it challenging to fit everything into my schedule while also competing in sports year-round.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone who was hardworking and easy to work with. I have always tried to be understanding and helpful in every situation.

Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with any historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?

A. If I could have a conversation with any historical figure it would have to be Blaise Pascal. I would like to hear his reasoning for his theory of probability. To me, it is quite interesting to base outcomes off of common solutions, varying for each scenario you face in life.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice for my peers is that your will to do something is all you will ever need in life. If you have the drive to work, you can accomplish anything.
