The Alburtis Seniors will meet noon July 16 at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis. There will be a potluck buffet lunch followed by a meeting and bingo. There is a small charge. Bring a covered dish. For more information, call Doris at 610-966-3653.

Lower Macungie pool hours are noon to 8 p.m. through July 31. The pool will close 4:45 p.m. for swim meets June 30 and July 10. There will be Beach Blanket Bingo 6 p.m. June 24. Pool Member Appreciation Day with a giant slide will be held noon to 5 p.m. June 28. There will be story time with the library 2 p.m. July 16. New this year: water aerobics classes and children’s birthday parties. Swim lessons are also available.

Summer concerts are back. Chuck Rismiller will perform songs of Johnny Cash and friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 21; The Large Flowerheads will play sounds of the 1960s 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 27; Swamp Guard will play alternative rock 6-8:30 p.m. July 5; Chasing Delight will play soul, pop, R&B and Coldplay tribute 6-8 p.m. July 12 and Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods will play 1950s music 6-8:30 p.m. July 19 at the Hills at Lockridge Park Bandshell, 7125 Scenic View Drive, Macungie.

Lower Macungie Township has partnered with Upper Macungie Township to offer memberships to the Splash Park. Lower Macungie residents must create an online account at www.uppermac.recdesk.com/Community/Home.

Lower Macungie Township offers indoor pickleball at the community center gymnasium. Advance registration is required.

Open gym is available at the community center. Residents must purchase an annual membership to use the gym.

Lower Macungie Township offers many programs for adults and children. For more information, go to http://www.lowermac.com/recreation/activities-programs/. Adult classes include yoga, Zumba, pilates, martial arts and tai chi. Youth classes include cooking, cricket, tennis, martial arts, golf and tot sports. There are also many youth camps.

The community center is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff is available by phone during that time at 610-966-6924. Updates are posted on Facebook and www.lowermac.com.

Yard waste center hours through Oct. 31 are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. Yard waste permits are required for drop-off. The center is located at 5536 Indian Creek Road, Macungie.

Weekly curbside collection of grass clippings takes place the same day as trash collection. Yard waste collection is every other week June 23 and July 7 and 21.

Lower Macungie Library hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The library will be closed July 4 for Independence Day.

LML Afternoon Book Club will meet 1-2:30 p.m. June 19 at the library multipurpose room to discuss “Small Great Things” by Judi Picoult. They will meet 1-2:30 p.m. July 17 to discuss “The Briar Club” by Kate Quinn.

Fun, Friendship and Fiber Arts (for adults) will meet 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 20. Bring your projects and make friends and share ideas.

There will be Sign Language Story time 10-11 a.m. June 20 and July 3 and 12 for preschool and youth.

There will be a Royal Ball for all ages 10-11 a.m. June 21. There will be crafts, activities and music and possibly a Disney princess.

Dungeons and Dragons for grades 6-12 will meet 4-5:30 p.m. June 23, July 28 and Aug. 4. The librarian Dungeon Master will guide the adventure. Pizza and snacks will be available.

There will be Sensory Coloring and Crafting for Adults 11 a.m. to noon June 24 and July 22.

Sunny Day Story time for children ages 2-5 years is back. Storytime meets outside 10-11 a.m. June 25 and July 9, 16, 23 and 30. In the event of inclement weather, story time will meet in the children’s program room.

Chit Chat & Craft Adult Craft Night will meet 6-8 p.m. June 25 for a stained glass inspired mosaic.

There will be a movie matinee of “Wicked” for all ages 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 26.

There will be a sensory movie matinee for adults with disabilities and their caregivers 11-12:30 p.m. July 1 and 15.

The Lower Macungie Library Book Club book for 10:30 to noon for July 2 is “March” by Geraldine Brooks. The book for Aug. 6 is “French Braid” by Anne Tyler. The book club meets virtually.

There will be a Karate Story time presented by Lehigh Valley Martial Arts for grades K-5 noon to 1 p.m. July 7.

Video Game Club for grades 2-12 will meet 2-3 p.m. July 7.

There will be two showings of “Minions” for all ages 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. July 8.

There will a sensory game day for adults with disabilities and their caregivers 11 a.m. to noon July 8 and Aug. 12.

There will be a superhero party for all ages 11 a.m. to noon July 10. There will be a free comic book for all attendees. Spiderman and Wonder Woman will be there, too!

Books and Beyond will meet 6:30-7:45 p.m. July 14 at the library to discuss “The Measure” by Nikki Erlick. The next meeting is Aug. 11.

There will be Music and Movement presented by Creative Learning Lab 1-11 a.m. July 17.

Teen Advisory Board for grades 6-12 will meet 4-5:30 p.m. July 17.

There will be a Firetruck Story time for preschool and youth 10-11 a.m. July 19. Lower Macungie Fire Department will be bringing their firetruck.

Teen Reading Lounge will meet 2-3:30 p.m. July 26 to discuss “Scythe” by Neal Shusterman, eat pizza, and do a hands-on craft.

Builders Brigade for grades K-5 will meet 6-7 p.m. July 31.

We usually celebrate Taco Tuesday with a weekly run to Taco Bell. I put the order in and Matt picks it up. You know you’re going there too often when the Taco Bell employee looks at your husband and says “Order for Mary?”
