L.V. Active Life offers various activities

Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following dances 7-10 p.m. during June in the Trexler Room.

The per person fee includes refreshments.

·June 21: “Latin Salsa”

·June 28: “Johnny K”

The following dance will be offered 1-3 p.m. in the Trexler Room.

·June 25: “Johnny K”

Dance classes include:

·June 24: Beginner tap with Instructor Grace Conti, 9 a.m.

If you have always wanted to learn to tap dance, this class is for you. Tap shoes are required.

·June 23, 30: Introduction to line dances, 1:45 p.m.

Learn the basic steps and proper technique with fun, easy dance to all genres of music.

·June 23, 30: Line dance, 12:30 p.m.

Learn the newest, most popular line dances as well as some of the classics. Must have experience.

·June 18: Karaoke 1-3 p.m. Trexler Room. Free. Everyone welcome.

The following creative arts classes are offered:

·June 18, 23, 25, 30: Arts and crafts led by Trisha Baker, 9-11 a.m.

·June 18, 20, 25, 27; Suzanne Bauder’s Art for Everyone, noon.

Help is available for all media chosen. New and advanced students are welcome.

·June 19, 26: Knit and chat group, 9 a.m.

Stop in, work on your own projects, knit, crochet or embroider.

·June 23, 30: Drawing led by Instructor Judy Peters, 9:30 a.m.

Learn how to draw with pencils in this introductory class to composition, outlining and shading.

·June 24: Instructor Bonny Batman’s ceramics, 9 a.m.

Come join these fun ceramics ongoing classes. Price includes paints.

The following exercise classes will be offered.

·June 20, 27: “Tai Chi” Instructor Bob Donnelly (Pai Ma Shen), 10:30 a.m.

A holistic exercise that helps reduce stress and promote physical well-being. Using slow flowing movement to coordinate breath and enhance strength, balance and calmness.

·June 20, 23, 27, 30: “Fit Circuit” with Instructor Sara Mercer, 12:30 p.m.

This low impact circuit style class, featuring upbeat choreography mixed with strength training, is a great overall cardio workout.

·June 23, 30: “Barre” Instructor Michele Fisher, 10:15 a.m.

A low impact toning class that blends the principals of Pilates, yoga, strength training and ballet to activate your entire body.

Focus on proper body alignment, balance, stability and flexibility and strength; targeting hips, glutes, abs and arms.

Standing and floor work and the ballet barre is used for some portions of class, but this is not a dance class.

·June 18, 23, 25, 30: “Zumba” Instructor Grace Conti, 9:30 a.m. Dancers and non-dancers will enjoy this Latin inspired, dance fitness class, which is designed for seniors.

·June 19, 24, 26: “Zumba” Instructor Ed Nickels, 9 a.m.

Dancers and non-dancers will enjoy this Latin inspired dance fitness class, which is designed for seniors.

·June 24: “Chair Dancing” Instructor Grace Conti, 2:15 p.m.

If you love music and love to dance but are having problems with aching joints and mobility issues, come and enjoy all types of dancing in a chair.

·June 19, 26: “Neuro Warrior” with Instructor Rob Comins, 9 a.m.

This class consist of dynamic movements from Martial Arts techniques ranging from boxing, Hapkido, Karate, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qigong and more.

Class is beneficial for any individual that wants to move and improve activities of daily living.

The following groups will be offered.

·June 19, 26: Photography Composition Basics, Instructor Ray Royer, 12:30 p.m.

This group is for anyone who wants to improve their photography skills using a cell phone or camera.

·June 19, 26: Poetry Appreciation, 2 p.m.

This group is for those who appreciate poetry.

·June 18, 25: “After A Loss ... What Comes Next?” Moderator Brenda Mason, 3 p.m.

We all experience loss. Loss can have us feel deeply alone. Meeting and sharing with others can begin the healing process.
