Catasauqua: St. Mary’s annual block party set for June 19-21, rain or shine

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., will hold its annual block party 6-10 p.m. June 19-21, rain or shine. Come out to enjoy games for all ages, bingo, a photo booth, homemade food and more.

D.H. Productions will entertain Thursday and Friday. Sons of Izzy will be there all evening Saturday.

The borough summer concert series continues 7-10 p.m. June 20 with Scott Marshall and the Highway Souls performing at the Catasauqua Park and Playground amphitheater, 501 American St. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and settle in for a fun, musical night in the park.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will be holding bingo 1 p.m. June 22. Doors open noon. Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game, etc.

There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a donation of a nonperishable food item, pet food or paper product (facial tissues, paper towels or toilet paper) for Whitehall Food Pantry and receive a strip of specials to be played on the first four specials.

Reserving seats is not necessary, but if you want to reserve seats, call or text 610-533-1357.

Catty Seniors Plus will next meet June 25 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Doors open noon, and the meeting starts 1 p.m.

The Public Library of Catasauqua, 302 Bridge St., will present a program titled An Evening with Benjamin Franklin 7 p.m. June 25. Artistic Director Christopher Black appears as Benjamin Franklin in this vivid, first-person exploration of Franklin’s 1755 visit to the Lehigh Valley. Invited by Easton’s founder — William Parsons — Franklin arrived amid rising tensions that would soon ignite the French and Indian War. Tickets are available at the library, and the event will benefit the library.
