SHS names student of the week
Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I just graduated from Salisbury High School.
Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. My parent’s names are Cathy and Peter Spisszak. I have a younger brother named Ryan and a dog named Nana.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject is biology because I enjoy learning about science and I always find the labs interesting.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I am in National Honor Society. Last year I won the MVP award for the baseball team. I was also awarded 2nd Team on the Lehigh Valley Live and Morning Call All Area Baseball Teams last year.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities
A. I have played baseball for Salisbury for four years. I am also in the Key Club, Class Advisory Board and Aevidum. I played basketball my freshman year and golf my senior year.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I will be attending Ursinus College in Collegeville, pitching for their baseball team and majoring in biology.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My junior year I had a schedule filled with AP and dual enrollment classes. Some of those classes were really challenging for me and I had to balance sports and a hard schedule. It taught me good time management and study skills, but it was not easy.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered as a kindhearted fellow.
Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with any historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?
A. There are so many people to choose from, but if I had to choose one I would pick Ben Franklin. I would like to pick his brain to understand all of his inventions and how they came to fruition and hear all about his life experiences.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. Turn in your work on time, work hard and eat Chipotle.
