Kempton resident

earns award

Joseph Chukoskie of Kempton, a member of the men’s track and field team at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, was named Middle Atlantic Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 30.

Chukoskie won the 10,000 meters at the Danny Curran Invitational with a school record time of 30:25.07 to top a field of 63 finishers.

His time is 19th in the nation so far this season and is ranked first in the AARTFC, MAC, and Mid-Atlantic Region.

The junior broke a 44-year program record by almost 10 seconds, beating the previous record of 30:34.04 run by Joel Carpenter in 1981.

Chukoskie won the race by almost 10 seconds, as Messiah’s Louka Fetter finished second in 30:34.70.

Chukoskie, a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science.
