Volunteers needed for 2-hour shifts for the annual Justin Sheftel Memorial Foundation Softball Tournament Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Cedarbrook Athletic Fields, Allentown. Help is needed from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and includes handing out programs, selling 50/50 raffle tickets, information tent, mocktail tent and general ‘runner.’ Proceeds will provide athletic and educational opportunities for underserved youth in the greater Lehigh Valley. Are you interested in dog walking at the Lehigh Valley Humane Society in Allentown? To become an approved dog walking volunteer, you must first complete the orientation scheduled for 5-6:30 p.m. on June 27. You will learn how to navigate the shelter, properly leash and unleash dogs, and walk dogs on our property with all the safety protocols in place. Adults only. Tour guides/docents are needed to greet and provide visitors to Museum of Indian Culture in Allentown with an educational experience about Native American lifeways and history as it pertains to the exhibits 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. If you are looking for youth volunteering opportunities over the summer, Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown, has a summer junior volunteer program for students 13 years old or have completed 7th grade up to and including rising seniors in high school. Work in the gift shop, help coordinators with activities and programs, or push folks in their wheelchairs outside in the great weather. Help spread awareness about the critical childcare support we offer to families facing serious health challenges. Ribbons of C.A.R.E. is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to volunteer their time staffing a table at our upcoming events throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding regions. Tasks include setup and takedown, distributing informational materials, educating the public about our mission and services, and engaging with community members. Volunteers are needed to help with the animal chores at The Gress Mountain Ranch in Orefield. Dressing for the weather is highly necessary while assisting with the daily feeding and watering of Stanley Llama, the pigs, goats, horses, ponies, alpacas, and other resident animals. Small groups can help with ground maintenance, composting, and cleaning of stalls. Minimum age 14, or 10 with parent supervision. Wildlands Conservancy’s Stream Team maintains tree and shrub planting sites established to protect water quality and create habitat along the Lehigh Valley’s waterways at various locations throughout the area this summer. Volunteers will maintain tubes placed over the trees to protect them from deer and remove invasive vegetation. Minimum age 16 or 10 with adult.
