Carpenter Cup team in action this week

Carpenter Cup action got underway this week and the Bethlehem had plenty of local representation on this year’s Lehigh Valley roster.

Five local players made up this year’s team, which opened up play on Tuesday, past Press deadlines, against Olympic Colonial at FDR Park in Philadelphia.

Bethlehem Catholic’s Bryce Blawn and Caden Deegan were named to the squad along with Liberty’s Kam Kensicki. Freedom’s Santiago Rodriguez and Chase Walker round out the Bethlehem contingent.

The single elimination tournament has its quarterfinals set for June 12 with the semifinals and finals slated for June 16-17 at Citizens Bank Park.
