Whitehall Township Public Library: Kick off Color Our World reading program June 14 at library

The Whitehall Township Public Library summer reading program kickoff is set for 1 p.m. June 14. PT Reptiles will bring live reptiles as we kick off the 2025 program, themed Color Our World.

Stickerpalooza for toddlers to teens is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 17. Fill a sticker book with different colors and characters.

Join us for rock painting 1 p.m. June 19. Youth in grades 1-12 can come and express their creativity. Registration is required.

Light pollution disrupts wildlife, impacts human health, wastes money and energy, contributes to climate change and blocks our view of the universe. Tom Lindeman will present these issues and how to help diminish them 6:30 p.m. June 19.

A chip taste testing is set for 1 p.m. June 24 for kids in grades 3-12. See how many chips you can identify from taste.

The adult craft night 6 p.m. June 24 features paint by numbers. Color Our World this summer with paint-by-number landscapes.

Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs will visit the library 1 p.m. June 25. The event is open to all.

Drop by 5:30-7:30 p.m. June 25 to try out Da Vinci Science Center color creations. Think like scientists as we mix primary colors to create a rainbow and explore the physics of color.

The event is targeted toward grades K-2 but is open to all school-aged children.

Young kids can play and explore with Duplos 1 p.m. June 26. Let’s see what we can create!

Learn about meditation practice without a major time commitment 6 p.m. June 26. This class, presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network Center for Mindfulness, will teach you simple mindfulness strategies to use anywhere, at any time. The program is for adults.

Saturday storytime is scheduled for 11 a.m. June 28. Kids ages 3-8 can join us for stories, songs and crafts.

Kids and Teens Connect: Game Time will be held 1 p.m. June 28. Join our Teen Advisory Board for a day of games for kids in grades K-6.

Next month’s Creation Station program features a sun catchers craft 6 p.m. July 1. Kids will paint sun catchers and learn about sunlight.

Kids in grades 3-6 can enjoy STEAM projects once a month.

The library has a number of clubs that meet monthly.

The book club for adults meets 1 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Come discuss what you’re currently reading.

The coloring club for adults meets 11 a.m. the first and third Thursdays and 5:30-7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday.

The Good Yarn group meets for knitting, crocheting and other needle crafts 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

The Death Cafe, a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes, meets 6:30 p.m. the third Monday.

Teens interested in volunteering can join TAB, which meets 1:30 p.m. one Saturday a month. Check the calendar for dates.

The library’s regular hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
