Hobart “Hobie” P. Zitto, 92, of Macungie, formerly of Piscataway, N.J., died peacefully surrounded by family May 26, 2025, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit. He was the husband of the late Theresa E. (Toole) Zitto, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Born in Paterson, N.J., he was the son of the late Fred and Mabel (Patterson) Zitto.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a sheet metal worker for Bonland Industries until his retirement and he was an avid gardener. His other hobbies included photography, fly fishing and stained glass.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Rubino; daughter-in-law, Maria; grandchildren, Lauren, Shannon, Ryan, Danielle, Ashley and Nick; six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sons, Billy and Robert; brothers, Fred and Robert; son-in-law, Gene Rubino.
