Charles R. Bartholomew

Charles R. Bartholomew, 97, of Hokendauqua, died June 5, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Ida (Geosits) Bartholomew for 73 years.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late William H. and Carrie (Wheeler) Bartholomew.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He worked as a pipe fitter at Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay, where he served as an usher for many years.

He and his wife enjoyed polka dancing at the Edelweis Haus and Coplay Saengerbund and attended Polka Fest for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert C. of Whitehall; a brother, Benjamin; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was predeceased by six brothers; and seven sisters.

There will be a calling time beginning 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., June 12 at the church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay.
