Wanderers seeks three in a row

Liberty’s success on the baseball diamond has followed the Wanderers in the NORCO season and the hope for the club is for that to happen again.

The Wanderers have won the last two NORCO titles and will be looking for their third straight crown this summer.

After a 16-5 season a year ago and a trip to regionals, head coach Paul Walsh knows nothing is guaranteed with a relatively new group of players this summer.

“We are younger than in years past, but these players have played a lot of competitive baseball,” said Walsh. “A key to our success is throwing strikes and keeping opponents off the basepaths.”

Returning players include Jackson Donatelli, Kamron Kensicki, Christian Hackett, Jake Strong, Willie Cruz, Dylan Metzger and Colin Peacock

Newcomers are Jaxon Horvath, Collin Panik, Zeke Frack, Brayden Kashner, Andrew Erfle, Brady Heffernan, Fikire Conway, Rocco Sciarra, Jake Matthews, Dimitri Condoulis, and Kyle Brandt.

“We have a solid defense and offense,” said Walsh. “If we can limit walks and be efficient on the mound, I think this team can be extremely successful.”

The Wanderers open the season on Wednesday at home against Freemansburg.
