Some high school seniors’ softball seasons will extend just a little longer when 12th grade players will compete in the Lehigh Valley Diamond Classic on June 11 at Pates Park, Allentown.
The doubleheader will pit seniors from the Colonial League and Eastern Pennsylvania Conference against the Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup team.
The first game is scheduled for 6 p.m. with players from the west: Mikell Kulp and Megan Ferenchak (Northampton), Allison Hunsberger, Anna Belletieri, and Maria Moore (Parkland), Mikayla Pengelly (Palmerton), Marissa Price and Aniah Clavell (Dieruff), Aryanna Donlon and Nya Brown (Whitehall).
Also, Sadie Haefeli and Avery Defanti (Emmaus), Mara Levins (Jim Thorpe), Lila Padden (Southern Lehigh), Rylee McGinley and Shelby Mitman (Northwestern Lehigh), Marisa Maehrer, Grace Bauer, and Peyton Hoffman (Northern Lehigh), Makayla Scott (Lehighton), Kailyn Getz, Brianca Pridham, Lydia Borgar, and Jovie Valenzuela (Pleasant Valley).
Coaches for the west team are Rich Giering (Emmaus), Kristy Henritzy (Northampton), and Art Getchius (Emmaus).
Lehigh Valley’s Carpenter Cup softball roster is comprised of sophomores and juniors from high schools throughout District XI, who will compete in the Carpenter Cup Softball Classic in Philadelphia the week of June 16.
