Northampton: Coed basketball set for June 7 at NASD

Northampton Area School District community education is currently offering coed basketball with Matthew Heisler 10-11:30 a.m. June 7 in the gymnasium at Lehigh Elementary School. You will have plenty of time to warm up, then be put into teams to play a friendly game of basketball. All abilities are welcome.

Participants do not need to be NASD residents to join but must be at least 15 years old.

The 16th annual Paw Prints on the Canal will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 8 at Canal Street Park, 1525 Canal St. There will be a sharp-dressed pet contest, deejay, rabies and microchipping clinic, K-9 demonstrations and a raffle.

Pennsylvania Classical Ballet Academy of Northampton will perform “Giselle” 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. June 8 at the Charles A. Brown Ice House in Bethlehem.

Queenship of Mary Church is holding its festival 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. June 22 at the church grounds, 1324 Newport Ave. Live music includes Dave Betz Polka Band 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and Flirtin’ with the Mob 4-8 p.m.

There will be homemade food, beer, wine, slushies, cash and basket raffles, bingo in the gymnasium, balloons by Robin 2-4 p.m. and Kandi’s Karicatures 4-8 p.m.

Northampton Fire Department 42 is hosting its third annual fire cadet camp July 7-11 at the station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive. The camp, open to borough residents only until further notice, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day with a graduation ceremony July 12.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2025-26 school year. Spaces are limited in all three classes.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12. Children do not need to be toilet trained.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16. Children need to be toilet trained.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16. Children need to be toilet trained.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept 1.
