Coplay: Video Gaze to take stage June 6
Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is planning its summer concert series.
The lineup for Friday night concerts includes Video Gaze June 6, Smith Compound Band June 13, Sons of Izzy June 20 and Castaway Band June 27.
The gates open 5 p.m., and the kitchen opens 5:30 p.m. Bands will play until 10 p.m.
The Wednesday acoustic concerts are 6-9 p.m. The schedule includes Kyle Yankowy of Video Daze June 18, Scott Erickson July 2, Mere Mortals July 16 and Honey and Nutz July 30. The kitchen will be open.

The Wednesday night summer series at the Stephen J. Burker Memorial Gazebo, North Second and Chestnut streets, will continue with James Supra June 11, Third Hand Band June 25, Rock Steady July 9 and Tim Harakal July 23. Concerts are held 6-9 p.m.

The borough’s Parkway Pool opens for the season June 14. The pool will be open noon-7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is planning a sandwich pickup lunch June 14. Drive-thru pickup is 10-11:30 a.m.
The menu includes a choice of ham and cheese or turkey and cheese, a bag of chips, small bottle of water and dessert.

Coplay Saengerbund is celebrating its 108th anniversary Stiftungsfest celebration 2:30 p.m. June 22. The event is open to the public.
The day begins with singing by the Saengerbund and guest choruses — the Reading Liederkranz, Lancaster Hobbychor and Franklinville Maennerchor. The Emil Schanta Band entertains after the choruses.
Wear your German outfits such as dirndl, lederhosen, vests, hats, etc. There will be music, food, drink and dancing.

Coplay Garden Club meets 7 p.m. June 26 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The group meets the last Thursday of the month.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 Whitehall High School graduates.
The Coplay Scholarship Fund committee is awarding two $5,000 scholarships to Coplay residents who graduated from high school and are planning further education at a university, college, technical school or the police academy.

Coplay American Legion Post 426 has an special mailbox in front of the Post at 134 S. Second St. Worn-out American flags can be deposited into the mailbox for the Post to properly destroy.
