LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

BAVTS NEWS By Faith Bruch

The halls of BAVTS are buzzing with excitement as we count down the final days of the 2024-2025 school year. We have so much to celebrate and a few more memories to make before summer break!

Carnival Day brought

smiles all around

You should’ve seen the place May 7. Our third annual BAVTS Carnival transformed the campus into a festival of fun and laughter. Students took a well-deserved break from their regular studies to enjoy games, food and quality time with friends and teachers.

What started as a small idea from our SkillsUSA and HOSA leadership teams three years ago has grown into one of our most anticipated traditions. They wanted to create something that would bring everyone together while raising some funds for student activities – and wow, has it delivered.

The creativity on display was incredible. Our culinary students outdid themselves with homemade cookies, cupcakes and the most refreshing lemonade you’ve ever tasted. Over at the cosmetology booth, lines formed quickly for temporary hair color and glitter tattoos (even some of our toughest seniors couldn’t resist a little sparkle).

The absolute highlight? Watching Mr. Lazarchuk and Mr. Kulik take the plunge in the dunk tank. Their good sportsmanship had everyone cheering, especially when they emerged soaking wet but smiling. And let’s not forget the “Pie-a-Teacher” booth run by our Hopes and Hearts team. It turns out our faculty are pretty good when it comes to taking a face full of whipped cream for a good cause.

Most activities were free, but the few small purchases here and there added up to make a real difference for our programs. The smiles on everyone’s faces told us all we needed to know — this tradition is here to stay.

NTHS members headed for adventure

Our National Technical Honor Society members counted down the days until May 19, when they headed to Blue Mountain Resort for a day of thrills and challenges conquering the zip lines, scaling rock walls and showing off their strategic skills in laser tag.

After working up an appetite with all that adventure, they headed back to school for a relaxed outdoor lunch at those gorgeous picnic tables our Building Trades class crafted. Nothing beats good food and good company after a day of fun.

Celebrating our seniors

And of course, we sent our graduating class off in style at the Senior Recognition Ceremony June 3 at Liberty HS. Following right after the BRIDGES Excellence Awards Ceremony, we took time to honor all the incredible achievements of our seniors.

They’ve worked so hard during their time at BAVTS, and we couldn’t be prouder of the skilled professionals they’ve become. While we’ll miss seeing their faces in our hallways, we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.
