New principal named for Schnecksville Elementary School

The Parkland School District Board of Education has appointed Justina Verile as the new principal of Schnecksville Elementary School. The unanimous appointment came during the board’s regular meeting May 13.

Verile will succeed current Principal Damian Goodman, who is relocating to western Pennsylvania at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year after his dedicated service to the Schnecksville school community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Verile to this new leadership role within our district,” Dr. Mark Madson, superintendent of schools said. “Her proven administrative capabilities, extensive classroom experience and deep commitment to educational excellence make her the ideal candidate to build upon the strong foundation Mr. Goodman has established at Schnecksville Elementary.”

Verile brings impressive credentials and extensive experience to this role. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology with elementary education and middle level mathematics certifications from Moravian College, complemented by a Master of Education degree from Wilkes University as well as a master’s degree in educational leadership from Delaware Valley University.

For the past three years, she has served as Parkland’s dean of students at the elementary level, providing invaluable support across all nine elementary school buildings in the district. Her teaching experience includes two years teaching fifth grade and 10 years teaching kindergarten in the Parkland School District, as well as teaching kindergarten in both the Northampton Area and Allentown school districts previous to working at Parkland.

“I am honored and excited to accept this position at Schnecksville Elementary School,” Verile said. “I look forward to working with our talented educators, supportive families and wonderful students to continue building an exceptional learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.”

Verile will begin transitioning into her new role immediately, working alongside Goodman to ensure continuity of leadership before fully assuming her responsibilities for the 2025-2026 school year.

Schnecksville Elementary School serves approximately 550 students in grades K-5 in the Parkland School District.
