Volunteers needed for Ice Cream Festival

Special to The Press
I have an announcement to make. This will be my last column for the Salisbury Press. I have filled your minds with events in Salisbury Township for almost 12 years. I hope you have enjoyed reading this and found it helpful and informative. I will still be around taking pictures at the schools and local events, but thought it was time for someone else to take a turn with the column. That person will be my friend, Kathy Hassick. I’m sure you will love her and what she has to say.
So here it goes.
The fourth grade concert, assembly and graduation will be held 9:15-11 a.m. June 3 at Salisbury Elementary School.
The graduation of the Salisbury High School Class of 2025 will be held 7-9 p.m. June 8 at the high school stadium. Guests may only attend with a ticket.
June 11 will be an early dismissal for Salisbury schools: 12:15 p.m. for high school and middle school and 1:15 p.m. for elementary school.
June 12 is the last day! High school and middle schools dismiss 10:30 a.m. and SES says goodbye to the students 11:15 a.m. Enjoy your summer break!
The SES Ice Cream Festival is next weekend. It runs noon to 4 p.m. June 7. The PTO is still in need of volunteers. I just signed up to work the dunk tank. Rest assured, I will not be IN the tank, but taking your tickets and giving you the softballs to throw at the dunk tank. Please consider helping out. How does the saying go ... many hands make light work? If we all pitch in, it makes the experience more enjoyable for all involved, including your children. There are positions inside or outside. See you there.
Come join us for Salisbury night at the IronPigs 7:05 p.m. July 1. Enjoy fireworks and $1 hot dogs! Tickets must be ordered by June 20 using a registration form on the Salisbury Township website and payment to the township building. For more information. contact Lisa Casey at 484-661-5814 or lcasey@salisburylehighpa.gov.
The Salisbury Township Public Works Department will be repaving streets this summer. For a complete list of which streets will be paved this year and next, visit www.salisburylehighpa.gov. There is information you should know if it is your street.
Yard waste drop-offs are open. The Franko site will be open June 2, 5 and 7. Devonshire will be open May 29 and 31. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
