Peggy A. Rainford, 75, of Macungie, died peacefully May 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Wayne and Eunice Scheuneman, of Des Plaines, Ill. She was the beloved wife of Bob Rainford for 55 years.

Fulfilling a childhood dream, she earned her registered nursing degree from St. Francis School of Nursing in Evanston, Ill. in 1970. However, her most cherished role was being a stay-at-home mom, lovingly raising her children during their formative years. Afterward, she returned to nursing and enjoyed a 20-year career.

She most enjoyed being around her six grandchildren. She was a “memory maker,” creating lasting traditions around the Christmas holidays, organizing shopping trips and planning family vacations to Walt Disney World. In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed their favorite pastime of cruising, taking 35 cruises to many parts of the world together.

She is survived by her husband; children, Steve (Katrina), Traci (Kurt) Koehler and Ben (Kassie); grandchildren, Kira, Klay, Sam, Bode, Kate and Elin; sisters, Kathy Goins and Laurie Kurowski and their families.
