George E. Gurinowich

of Orefield

George E. Gurinowich, 80, of Orefield, died April 30, 2025, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jan (Harrison) Dury-Gurinowich. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edward and Florence (Curney) Yankowski.

He attended Freeland High School and Penn State Hazelton. He and his wife, Jan, co-owned Cottage Antiques and Crafts (formerly Cottage Crafters) in Allentown since 2016. He was so very fond of his Cottage family. Before that, he managed several manufacturing companies. In addition, he was the financial officer at A Child’s Place, Devon.

He had a zest for life, a keen sense of humor and was always ready for an adventure. He enjoyed traveling, winters in Florida, golfing, his home on Lake Sheridan, fishing, boating, his beloved dogs, thrifting and casinos. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

His family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the loving and compassionate care provided by Amedisys Hospice, Amada Senior Care and Valley Med Home Health Care.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tracey DePano (Marty), of Easton; son, George J. (Kellie), of Trexlertown; stepdaughter, Natalie Green (Brady), of Malvern; stepsons, Jason Dury (Valerie), of Herndon Va., Lee Dury (Elizabeth), of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; sister, Mary Ann Banyas (Richie), of Freeland; aunt, Dorothy Dion, of Freeland; grandchildren, Anthony, Zachary (Emily), Kaitlyn (Thomas), Marty, Tyler, Jake (Rhiannon), Owen, Trevor, Elijah, Tessa, Paige, Claire; nephew, Michael Banyas; niece, Samantha Banyas, great niece, Sohpia Buckner.

He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Marie Longeway.
