William “Bill” R. Smith, 77, died May 15, 2025, while in the care of St. Luke’s Hospice House. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late William D. and Althea (Schmick). He was the husband of the late Theresa M. Smith.

He was a 1966 graduate of Emmaus HS.

He was in the U.S. Army Transportation School and was a helicopter mechanic in the army.

He was a journeyman boilermaker until he retired.

He is survived by a son, William C. and his wife Kelly; three grandchildren, Hannah, Emma and Carter; three siblings, Donald Smith and his wife Linda, Ann Edmonds and her husband Steve and Dolores Ziegenfus and her husband Scott; a sister-in-law, Joan Smith; nieces; and nephews.

He is predeceased by a brother, Dale Smith.
