Jerome B. Knauss

formerly of Schnecksville

Jerome “Jerry” B. Knauss, 94, formerly of Schnecksville, died May 17, 2025, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of the late Janet L. (Moerder) Knauss. He was born in Allentown, a son of the late Paul H. and Miriam M. (Solt) Knauss. He was a graduate of Allentown High School Class of 1948.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He was employed as a telephone installer for Bell Telephone for 31 years before retiring in 1985. After retiring he worked as a self-employed telephone installer and electrician for 17 years. He was a member of the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Allentown, where he served on the church council. He attended the Emmaus Moravian Church.

He was a member of the Antique Telephone Collectors of America. He enjoyed antique cars and collecting postcards and antique toys. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by daughters, Pamela K. Prisaznik and her husband, Michael A. and Paula N. Donchez and her husband, David J., both of Allentown; granddaughters, Emily Nevitt and her husband, Joshua, Hannah Prisaznik, Madison Zuschnitt and her husband, Blake, Molly Booth and her husband, Will.

He was predeceased by his longtime companion Nancy E. Thomas; sisters, Betty Gehringer, Mary Leibenguth and Charlotte Nowers.

A celebration of his life will be held 10:30 a.m. May 27 at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Friends and family may call 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service in the funeral home.
