Broughal names new principal

The Bethlehem Area School District is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Brittany A. Reese as the new principal of Broughal MS.

Dr. Reese brings with her over 15 years of educational experience, most recently serving as Dean of Students at Broughal. Her dedication to student growth, academic excellence, and community engagement has made her a respected leader within the BASD community.

Dr. Reese holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University, a Master of Science in Health, Exercise and Sport Science from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Muhlenberg College.

Her professional background includes roles as a Social Studies teacher and Dean of Students at Broughal, in addition to teaching positions at schools in Allentown, PA and Summerville, SC. She also served as a Community Nutrition Education Coordinator for The Food Trust in Philadelphia.

“Dr. Reese’s passion for education, her support of our students, and her commitment to the South Bethlehem community make her the ideal leader for Broughal,”

said Superintendent Dr. Jack Silva. “We are pleased to welcome Dr. Reese to this role at Broughal.”

Throughout her time at Broughal, Dr. Reese has built strong relationships with students, families, and staff. Her deep connection to the school community and her experience in various educational roles have prepared her well to lead the school with care and success.

Dr. Reese expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, “I am truly honored to serve as the principal of Broughal Middle School. Broughal has been my home since 2018, and I am thrilled to continue working alongside our staff, students, and community to foster opportunities for all students to succeed academically and become reflective, resilient, and creative leaders.”
