The District 11 baseball tournament gets underway this Wednesday and Liberty will be going for their fourth straight 6A championship after losing in the EPC title game to Parkland on Saturday.
The Trojans grabbed the top seed and will host eighth-seeded Easton on Wednesday. The other matchup in the top half of the bracket is fourth-seeded Nazareth taking on fifth-seeded Stroudsburg.
Liberty comes in as the second seed and Freedom is seeded third, setting up a potential semifinal matchup between both city rivals.
The Hurricanes open up with seventh-seeded East Stroudsburg South and the Pates take on sixth-seeded Emmaus.
Semifinals are set for Sunday with the finals taking place next Wednesday, May 28.
In 5A, Southern Lehigh comes in as the top seed and awaits the winner of the four-five matchup between Blue Mountain and Bangor.
The bottom bracket pairs second-seeded Whitehall against third-seeded Pocono Mountain East.
The 5A tournament starts on Tuesday with semifinals on Saturday. Finals are May 27.
The 4A tournament has Tamaqua as the top seed and they’ll take on the winner between fourth-seeded Bethlehem Catholic and fifth-seeded Jim Thorpe.
Northwestern comes in as the second seed and they await the winner of the three-six matchup between Saucon Valley and Lehighton.
4A action gets underway on Wednesday with semifinals on Sunday followed by the championship game on May 28.
