SES to host grade level concerts

All Salisbury Schools will be closed May 23-26 for a professional development day and the Memorial Day holiday. School will reopen May 27.

Salisbury Elementary School will be busy with end of year festivities. They will hold end of year concerts and assemblies for each grade level.

Kindergarten will perform May 27 with first grade following May 28 and second grade May 29. Third grade will perform May 30 and fourth grade will perform and have their graduation June 3. All assemblies will begin 9:15 a.m. on their scheduled day.

Did you know SteelStacks offers a free family movie series? They are showing “Despicable Me 4” 6:30 p.m. May 21. This is an outdoor screening so remember to bring your chairs or a blanket to sit on. On May 28, they will show “The Emperor’s New Groove” 6:30 p.m. There is always something happening down at the SteelStacks!

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown will host a community blood drive 3-7 p.m. June 3 in loving memory of Wayne Leibensperger Jr. Call Deana Leibensperger at 610-217-3155 for an appointment.

Jerusalem will host a bus trip to Sight and Sound to see “NOAH” Aug. 12. The bus will leave 10 a.m., lunch is noon and the show begins 3 p.m. Reservations are due by June 29. For more information or to register, call Louise at 610-866-1611 or email Stephens.louise.a@gmail.com.

Jerusalem will host “An Afternoon with Elvis” with a tribute performance by Jeff Krick Jr. 2-3:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the church. There is limited seating; get your reservations in early by contacting Louise at 484-456-1148 or 610-866-1611.

The township recycling drop off sites are open. The Franko Farm site will be open May 22 and 24 and the Devonshire site will be open May 29 and 31. Drop off center hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The recycle centers are closed on Memorial Day.
