One person is described by authorities as “critically injured” in a shooting May 14 in Macungie borough.
In an email to The Press dated May 19, Macungie Police Department Sgt. Travis Kocher noted “There is no change in the victim status.”
Authorities outlined the incident as follows:
Just before 9:30 p.m. May 14, “several shots were fired into three occupied structures.”
Authorities describe the structures as located in the Ridings at Brookside development in the 100 block of Linfield Circle in Macungie.
The Ridings at Brookside is described as a “condominium HOA” on its website.
One person and a dog were struck by bullets, according to information released by Macungie police.
The status of the dog was not known, according to police.
The Lehigh County District Attorney and Pennsylvania State Police are among investigating agencies.
The investigation is described as ongoing.
Authorities described the shooting as likely a “targeted attack.”
“Preliminary evidence suggests the attack does not appear to be a random act of gun violence,” according to a news release from Macungie police.
“Police believe there is minimal risk to the public at this point, but residents are encouraged to remain vigilant,” Kocher continued in a statement made available to The Press.
No arrests had been made nor expected as of May 19.
