Moore Township: Honor military members May 26
Memorial Day, held May 26 this year, is right around the corner. It is a day when members of our military who died while serving the country are honored and remembered. It is a day to reflect on those American patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Moore Township Board of Supervisors next meets 6 p.m. June 3 at the township municipal building, 2491 Community Drive, Bath. A meeting agenda is available on the township website, mooretownship.org.

The township’s land and environmental protection board next meets 7 p.m. June 9 at the municipal building.

The township recreation committee next meets 7 p.m. June 19 at the municipal building.

The board of supervisors is considering a major upgrade of the township’s recreation parks and open spaces. Supervisors are also planning the replacement of the municipal building or major renovations to the current building.

Bingo is played 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Department, 2718 Mountain View Drive. Doors open 5 p.m.

Yard waste can be dropped off 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 7 a.m.-dusk Saturdays at the municipal complex. The bins for drop-off are located near the public works garage, through the gate and to the right.
There is one bin for weeds and one bin for brush. The drop off is closed on most holidays.

The Community Days committee is seeking members to help plan the 2025 Moore Township Community Days event.

Two local Scouts are raising funds to support their Eagle Scout projects. Damien Weist is raising funds for a memorial at American Legion Eckley E. Patch Post 470, and Logan Cupples will install bat boxes and owl nesting boxes at Schiavone Park and Appalachian Park in Moore Township.

Consider joining and supporting Moore Township Historical Commission to learn about the rich history of the township and raise awareness of its historical importance.

Moore Township seeks to fill vacancies on the township’s Americans with Disabilities Act Committee, consisting of three people with one-year terms.

Moore Township police patrol Moore Township and Chapman Borough. The department asks all motorists to drive defensively and be on guard. As the weather warms, there will be more kids on bicycles and increased motorcycles on the roads.
Also, if pot holes are found, call the township office or the police department to report the pot holes for repair.
