Emmaus High School has released key dates and requirements for the Class of 2025’s graduation week.
Seniors must clear all school obligations – including returning books, resolving discipline issues and returning technology – before they can pick up their caps, gowns and commencement tickets.
Obligation Day is scheduled for June 2 in the EHS cafeteria, with staggered entry times based on last names: students with last names A-D and VESPA students go in 7:30-8:15 a.m.; 8:15-9 a.m. for students with last names E-K; 9-9:45 a.m. for students with last names L-Q and 9:45-10:30 a.m. for students with last names R-Z. Once obligations are cleared, printed tickets for the June 8 commencement ceremony will be distributed.
Graduation activities begin June 3 with yearbook signing, a senior picnic and tailgate 9 a.m. in the gymnasium.
Students must attend a mandatory graduation practice and senior meeting 8 a.m. June 4 in the gymnasium.
On June 5, caps and gowns will be distributed 8 a.m. in the auditorium. Immediately afterward, seniors will participate in the Parade of Graduates, visiting East Penn School District elementary schools in their full regalia. Parents must email Principal Beth Guarriello by June 3 if they are opting their student out of the parade.
A second mandatory graduation practice will be held at the PPL Center June 6, with the specific time to be announced. Seniors unable to attend must notify Guarriello in writing by May 27.
Commencement exercises will take place June 8 at the PPL Center in Allentown. Seniors should arrive between 11:30 a.m. and noon for check-in at the Air Products Gate on Seventh Street. Only car keys and cellphones will be permitted inside and proper attire is required – no jeans, sneakers, flip-flops or casual wear. Caps may not be decorated and only official stoles and medals may be worn.
Diplomas will be distributed 8-10 a.m. June 9 in the EHS Auditorium. Diplomas will not be mailed. Further updates will be communicated to students via Schoology.
Graduating seniors are reminded all Google Drive and EPSD network content will be permanently deleted over the summer. To keep their documents, projects and other digital files, seniors must export or transfer their data before July 1. Instructions on how to back up Google content and EPSD files are on the “Class of 2025” Schoology page.
There will be a half day May 23. Schools are closed May 26 for all students.
The district offers driver training at the high school which could save students money on car insurance, could help students become better, safer drivers and could save students a trip to the DMV for their driver’s license. The district will run multiple sessions throughout the summer (exact dates are TBD).
Each student must have parental permission to drive a motor vehicle. A learner’s permit must be obtained by the student prior to registering for driver training.
Check out the driver training page on the EHS website for more information.
