Bath has new contact for code official
At the March 10 Bath Borough Council meeting, Mayor Fiorella Reginelli Mirabito worked to clear up confusion regarding the borough code enforcement officer’s contact number.
There was reportedly two numbers listed, which caused some confusion, but there is a new, accurate number for residents to use. Borough Manager Brad Flynn reported the new number is 484-861-7030.
Because the number is a cellphone, a resident can take a picture of a code violation or questionable situation and directly text the picture to the code enforcement officer.
Reginelli Mirabito said she is planning to have three summer splash events — one each in June, July and August. Bath Fire Department connects to a fire hydrant and sprays cool water into the air for kids to run through to have fun and cool off. Contact the borough office for more details.
Council adopted the commercial driver’s license training policy — HR 2025-01. Council also adopted the office administration policy — AD-2025-01 — which addresses office staff issues, including job descriptions and succession planning.
Resolution 2025-002 approved the presentation of the annual State of the Borough Address. Resolution 2025-003 adopted the hazard mitigation plan update.
All resolutions and policies are available for resident review by visiting bathborough.org or by calling the borough office.
Council also approved the authorization of the borough solicitor and engineer to move forward with official borough, zoning and overlay district maps.
In the environmental advisory committee report, it was noted a paper shredding and electronics recycling event is being planned for later in the summer.
It was also mentioned there were several dead turkey vultures found within the borough. The committee said if a resident finds a dead bird, they should not touch it because of the bird flu outbreak. Residents should call the game commission or the borough office to report the situation.
Council awarded a contract to Strauser Nature’s Helpers, of Stroudsburg, in the amount of $27,837 for the cutting of the borough’s 34 acres of grass to be mowed over the spring and summer.
The next community yard sale will be Sept. 6. There is no central location, as residents will hold the yard sale on their own property.
Borough council meetings are held at borough hall, 121 S. Walnut St. The audio from the meetings is recorded and available on YouTube. Visit bathborough.org for how to access the virtual aspect of the meeting and review meeting agendas.
