Doris D. Schofield
Doris D. “Dori” (Dressler) Schofield, 92, of Hampton, N.J. died May 7, 2025, at Rittenhouse Village in Allentown, on the 65th anniversary of her wedding to her loving husband Robert A. Schofield. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd S. and Laura Ruth (Gray) Dressler.
She was a graduate of Akron University and went on to become a flight attendant for American Airlines before becoming a loving and wonderful mother to her six sons.
She was a former hospital volunteer at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, N.J., a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels in Hampton, N.J. and a former Cub Scout Den Mother. She loved to sing and read, take long walks and celebrate America’s history by visiting historical sites with her family. She was a strong supporter of her sons’ athletic endeavors and rarely missed a game. She was also a long-suffering fan of the Cleveland Indians.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Pittstown, N.J.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by sons, Michael J., of Houston, Texas, Stephen G. of Alexandria, Va., Brian D. (Elizabeth), of Allentown; Jeffrey A. (Sharon), of Hershey; Kevin J. (Michelle), of Ardmore, Mark E. (Linda), of New York City, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Paul, Kenneth, Kathy and Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. May 16, at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield. Visitation will take place 10 a.m. preceding the Mass.
