Betty L. Newhard

gifted pianist

Betty L. (Luckey) Newhard, 95, formerly of Quakertown, died May 11, 2025, at Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Newhard for 34 years. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Willard A. and Ruth E. (Moser) Luckey.

She was a gifted pianist, and she loved music, especially the great hymns of the church, Broadway show tunes and the classics of her era. She enjoyed playing for others, especially for sing-alongs and chapel services where she resided in later years.

She and her late husband were active members of the Quakertown Historical Society and Quakertown Lions Club, and she also served as a Red Cross Blood Mobile volunteer. In earlier years, she was a member of the Parkland Garden Club; because of her love for children, she was a 4-H Leader and directed a cherub choir as a young mother.

She was a longtime member of East Swamp Church, Quakertown.
