Whitehall Township Public Library: Creation Station planned for May 21

Kids in grades 3-6 can enjoy the Creation Station: Weird Water program 6 p.m. May 21 at Whitehall Township Public Library. Learn about the flow of water in narrow spaces.

Lehigh Valley Crimes Through Time is set for 6:30 p.m. May 22. Local storyteller Ellen Flynn returns to share local true crime cases from the 1800s and early 1900s.

Visit the library’s indoor yard sale, planned for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 30 and 31, with a special bag sale noon-3 p.m. May 31. Find kitchenware, holiday goods and more.

We’re accepting donations of items in good condition until May 23. We don’t accept electronics, clothing or furniture, but we’d appreciate most other contributions.

Learn about the Irish in the American Civil War 6:30 p.m. June 5.

The American Civil War is Ireland’s forgotten conflict. Some 170,000 Irish men fought in the war, and historian Mike Jesberger will discuss these sons of Erin who played a major role.

Medicare 101, with Liz Sweedo of Lehigh County Aging PA MEDI, is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 10. Learn the basics of Medicare including enrollment, cost and coverage.

The summer reading program kickoff is set for 1 p.m. June 14. PT Reptiles will bring live reptiles as we kick off the 2025 program, themed Color Our World.

The library has a number of clubs that meet monthly.

The book club for adults meets 1 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Come discuss what you’re currently reading.

The coloring club for adults meets 11 a.m. the first and third Thursdays and 5:30-7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday.

The Good Yarn group meets for knitting, crocheting and other needle crafts 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

The Death Cafe, a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes, meets 6:30 p.m. the third Monday.

Teens interested in volunteering can join the Teen Advisory Board, which meets 1:30 p.m. one Saturday a month. Check the calendar for dates.

The library’s regular hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
