Fullerton: Purse bingo set for May 18
St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., will be having a purse bingo May 18. The doors open 1 p.m.

St. Elizabeth’s will hold a yard sale and food truck event 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 23 in the church parking lot on Pershing Boulevard. There will also be a book sale.
Bring your beloved treasures that you need or want to part with, and enjoy a nice day with good food and a little something for everyone.

St. Elizabeth’s Deacon Mike will be celebrating his 10th ordination anniversary. There will be a celebration after Masses May 25 in the parish hall. Come out to celebrate and congratulate Deacon Mike!

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will be holding bingo May 25. Cash bingo starts 1 p.m., with doors opening noon.
Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game and more. There will be refreshments available for purchase.
Bring a donation of a nonperishable food item, pet food or paper product (facial tissues, paper towels or toilet paper) for Whitehall Food Pantry and receive a strip of specials to be played on the first four specials.

Remember: The community center has now increased its cash prize payouts.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., will be collecting pancake mix, jelly and coffee for Whitehall Food Pantry for the month of May. Any other nonperishable food items, as well as monetary contributions, are always welcome.
A shopping cart can be found in the coatroom area by the sanctuary for you to place your food donations.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 835 Third St., will be holding Vacation Bible School — Baobab Blast — 6-8 p.m. June 16-20.
Baobab Blast will be set beneath the baobab tree in the expansive African savanna. We will meet a different African animal each evening, as we hear Bible stories, sing songs, make crafts and eat snacks.
This is one VBS you don’t want to miss. It is all about being part of a community, caring for others, learning about the Bible with stories about Abraham’s travels to Canaan, Joseph forgiving his brothers, Jesus calling his disciples, the Good Samaritan and Philip and the Ethiopian.
The church will give free T-shirts to all who register before June 1. Call the church office at 610-264-3762 for registration forms.
VBS is for ages 3 to those through fifth grade.

St. John’s UCC is having its annual bus trip to Ocean City, N.J., June 28. The bus departs 7 a.m., and will leave Ocean City 7 p.m.
Money for the trip is due by May 28 to Brian Fisher or to the church office. You can call the office at 610-264-8421 with any questions.
