District News: New swimmer test is May 15

The competitive summer swim team, for ages 5-18, will have a new swimmer test 6-8 p.m. May 15 in the pool at Whitehall High School.

WHS library announcements: All senior books are due by May 16.

The last day for the after-school library is May 22. The last day for grades 9-11 to borrow books is May 23. The last day for study hall will be May 23. All grades 9-11 books are due to be returned by May 30.

At 7 p.m. May 20, Zephyr Elementary School’s chorus will present “Passport Around the World” in the auditorium at WHS.

Families of fifth-grade students are invited to the Whitehall-Coplay Middle School auditorium 5:30-6:30 p.m. May 21 for orientation night.

You will learn about the expectations and culture of WCMS in an informational meeting with Principal Bethany Koenig and Lori Galucy, sixth-grade counselor.

On May 22 and 23, Zephyr Elementary will have its field days at the Zephyr Sports Complex.

The event will begin 9:15 a.m. and runs throughout the day. Please remember that classes will rotate through events throughout the day, so timing will vary based on the class. The event will end with all classes meeting together for the tug-of-war finale.

During the event, parents/guardians are asked to spectate from the designated sections, and do not approach the student section. Students will not be permitted to leave the complex with their parents/guardians. Parents must wait for the normally scheduled dismissal.

Whitehall High School Class of 1972 will hold a scholarship fundraiser 4-8:30 p.m. May 28 at Union and Finch, 1528 Union St., Allentown.

Proceeds help fund two $1,000 scholarships awarded annually to deserving WHS seniors.

Mention you are there for a dine and donate event, whether for dine-in or takeout, for a portion of your bill to be donated to the scholarship fund.
