Coplay: Common Bond concert to be held May 16
Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is planning its summer concert series.
The lineup for Friday night concerts includes Common Bond May 16 (open for the public), Social Call May 23 and Stereotype May 30.
The gates open 5 p.m., and the kitchen opens 5:30 p.m. Bands will play until 10 p.m.
The Wednesday acoustic concerts are 6-9 p.m. The schedule includes Scott Erickson May 21, Larry Werner and Madalyn Rayo Duo June 4 and Mere Mortals June 16. The kitchen will be open.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., will hold a baked chicken leg dinner May 17, with drive-thru pickup 4-5:30 p.m.
The menu includes 1/4 chicken leg, baked potato, green beans, applesauce, roll and dessert. Freewill donations are gratefully accepted.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church is planning a bus trip May 21 to see “Noah” at Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster. The round trip includes a stop at Kitchen Kettle, the show ticket, dinner at Shady Maple, driver gratuity and snacks and refreshments on the bus.

Coplay Garden Club meets 7 p.m. May 29 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The group meets the last Thursday of the month.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is planning to hold a drive-thru sandwich pickup lunch, set for 10-11:30 a.m. June 14.
The menu includes a choice of ham and cheese or turkey and cheese, a bag of chips, small bottle of water and dessert.

The Coplay Scholarship Fund Committee is awarding two $5,000 scholarships to Coplay residents who graduated from high school and are planning further education at university, college, technical school or the police academy. Scholarships are awarded annually.
