Allen/East Allen townships: Dine and donate event set for May 18

Support the Jess Fin Foundation during a dine and donate event 3-7 p.m. May 18 at the Seemsville Pub, 3819 Seemsville Road.

Stop in for dinner or take out and support the Foundation, established to raise funds for brain tumor research and to provide financial help to local patients diagnosed with brain cancer, in memory of Jess Finlayson.

St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 8142 Valley View Road, Seemsville, will hold a Thomson’s Meat Market raffle May 18, starting 10:15 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

Lappawinzo Fish and Game Association, 25 Lappawinzo Road, will hold its next breakfast May 18.

The second annual senior prom at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Kreidersville, will be held 4:30-9 p.m. June 14 and will include dinner, dancing and more. This year’s theme will be Under the Sea.

There is no cost for this event, but a ticket is necessary to attend. Call Nicole at 484-241-1275 with any questions.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host Vacation Bible School 6:30-8 p.m. June 23-27. Learn about the superheros of the Bible with stories, crafts, music and fun.

All children ages 3 to sixth grade are welcome. The program is special-needs inclusive.

Family fun night will be June 27. There will be hot dogs, s’mores, games and music.

Join a group of crafters who meet twice a month at Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, East Allen Township.

Crafters will be meeting 10 a.m.-noon the first and third Thursday of each month in the meeting room of Monocacy School.

No registration is needed. A $5 donation to the society is requested to defray facility costs.

Join quilters at Zion Lutheran Church, 1904 Main St., the first Monday of the month. All are welcome to stop by any time from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., not just members of the church. Finished quilts are donated to local homeless and needy.

Donations of used bed sheets, curtains and tablecloths are welcome.

This group has been making quilts for the last 70 years — the original members started the group in the 1950s.
