Bethlehem Steel welder
Richard T. Jones, 90, of Allentown, died May 5, 2025, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit, Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Owen and Hannah (Parry) Jones. He was the husband of Patricia “Pat” A. (Huber) Jones for 62 years.
He was in the U.S. Army and was a tank driver while stationed in Germany.
He was a welder for Bethlehem Fabricators for 30 years until he retired. He then worked in maintenance at Christ Reformed Church, College Hill Moravian Church and Kirkland Village, all in Bethlehem, for a total of 10 years.
He was a member of the North End Wanderers and Heights Athletic Associations and the Jefferson Democratic Club, all in Bethlehem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Todd Jones and his wife Annette “Ann” of Salisbury Township; five grandchildren, Jennifer Jones-Mickelson and her husband Andy of Hellertown, Ryan Jones and his wife Nicole of Allentown, Eve Jones of Salisbury Township, Hollie Buskirk and Dylan Buskirk of Danielsville; three great -grandchildren, Owen Mickelson, Ramona Jones and Zoe Jones; a son-in-law, Marvin Buskirk of Danielsville; nephews; and nieces.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Terri Jones Buskirk; and three siblings, Ted Jones, Owen Jones Jr. and Cathryn Rice.
