The deafening sound of silence
To the Editor:
Have you noticed ... in the last four years that things are humming and getting done at 4444 Walbert Ave. in South Whitehall township?
Gone are the constant news articles about discord, bickering and self-serving statements regarding what and how things should be done.
Gone are the endless attorney and vicious Twitter, Facebook and email rants, condemnations and personal attacks that divide not unify.
Gone are the autocratic decisions made in the backroom by bureaucrats and rolled out in non-transparent fashion. Gone are the management practices that stifled innovation and disgruntled employees and volunteers.
Gone are the years of overdue audits that crippled South Whitehall Township’s borrowing options. Gone are those who failed to lead.
Replacing this are successes: a completed 10 Comprehensive Plan, high-functioning township management, well-funded and equipped emergency management operations, transparent and open budget processes, equal and fair treatment for all residents, leadership not bureaucratic management and true regard for the “voice of the people.”
You can trust Monica Hodges and Chris Peischl to continue to deliver the kind of government we all want as commissioners in South Whitehall Township ... honest, transparent and fair.
Vote for them on May 20.
