America’s Grow-a-Row is a 423-acre farm that grows and donates fresh produce to those in need, thanks to thousands of volunteers, donating over 25 million pounds across NJ, NY, PA, and beyond. Volunteer events are 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday and select Thursday evenings from April through mid-November. Join us in feeding our neighbors in need! Locations are in Pittstown or Milford, NJ. Do you have a passion for science and education? Are you interested in helping bring science to life and lives to science? Then join the volunteer team at the Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown and provide a fun, engaging, inclusive, science experience for visitors. Minimum age 16. Get ready to hear BINGO! Help is needed 4-10 p.m. on May 9 for K9 Kop Project’s annual fundraiser at Petersville Rod and Gun Club in Bath. Check guests in, sell extra bingo packets, 50/50 tickets, daubers, help with verifying raffle basket winners and verifying bingo card winners. Minimum age 21 or 13 with an adult. Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive is on May 10 and is coordinated Second Harvest Food Bank. Choose which location you would like to sign up for (2 to 6 p.m. in Bethlehem & Easton; 3 to 7 p.m. in Allentown) and join in a day of giving back to our community. Enjoy the beautiful weather Saturday, May 10 and support The Salvation Army Foster Care & Adoption Services for the 14th annual Rock N’ Run at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown to raise awareness and support children in foster care. The event includes a 5K, 5 Mile and Kids Fun Run and is run exclusively by volunteers and agency staff. Volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m. to noon for many stations. Let’s get this summer started on Humankind Day, hosted by Unidos Inc, with safe activities and resources for families at Bucky Boyle Park, Allentown. Roosevelt Elementary is excited to host a Reality Fair for 5th grade students, where they’ll get fun, hands-on experience learning about real-life responsibilities like budgeting, decision-making, and managing expenses, and is looking for 19 volunteers to help run the 19 interactive stations 9 a.m. to noon on May 22. Whitehall Historical Preservation Society annual spring flea market is on May 17. Assistance is needed the Friday prior to the event to set up tables, prepare fields for parking and venders, etc., and AM & PM shifts on May 17 to finish setting up, help patrons, venders, and end-of-day cleanup and storage.
