AWARENESS MONTH: May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and BASD is committed to supporting the mental well-being of its students, staff and families. Let’s break the stigma, raise awareness, and remind each other: it’s OK to ask for help, and you are never alone.

LHS PRINCIPAL: At last week’s BASD Board of School Directors meeting, Brandon B. Horlick was officially appointed as the new principal of Liberty HS. Horlick brings over 15 years of experience in secondary education and most recently served as principal of Broughal MS, where he led significant school improvement.

SOCCER CAMP: At Nitschmann MS, the camp will be for students entering grades 1-7; boys and girls; any experience welcome. Staffed by the Liberty HS coaching staff in conjunction with Liberty HS alumni and student volunteers. June 21-23 from 4 to 7 p.m., and June 23-25 from 9 a.m. to noon.
