Cumin N Eat adds new borough site

Cumin N Eat, a popular Indian restaurant in South Whitehall Township, has opened a second location at 2418 Cherryville Road, Northampton. The grand opening took place March 21.

Owners Aparna Bharath and Bharath Sundararam and their business partner Agileswaran Palani said they are excited about the expansion. Palani and his wife, Radha, also operate Cumin N Eat locations in Secaucus and Marlboro, N.J.

According to Aparna Bharath, they had been searching for a new location for about six months when they discovered their current landlord — LS Property Investments — also managed the Northampton space. She said when they first opened, people were ordering takeout, but now people are interested in going out to eat.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, though lunch hours may vary.

When asked about Northampton’s Indian community, she expressed hope that the restaurant would introduce and enlighten locals about Indian cuisine.

The team previously owned Biryani City and looks forward to bringing their culinary expertise to Northampton.
