Letter to the Editor: Pay attention to the real education candidates

Pay attention to the real education candidates

To the Editor:

In the past 100 days, we have witnessed the circus that the Maga Republicans have created in our federal government with their clown leader, Donald Trump. He is out to destroy our democracy through his lying, destruction of the Department of Education and his desire for colleges to kiss his ring.

After six bankruptcies, you would expect his business acumen would be understood.

With his tariffs, he is working toward a seventh bankruptcy in the name of the United States of America. He is the definition of incompetence and will go down as the worst president this country has ever seen.

He and his party want to control what you can learn, what you can read and what you can say. He challenges our Constitution at every turn and his lemmings in Congress are afraid to challenge him. They have violated their oath of office to represent the people who elected them and now only answer to their convicted felon leader. Hopefully, their time will be cut short in the 2026 election.

My wife, Francee Fuller, spent years on the East Penn School Board. Our twin sons were the fifth generation to graduate from Emmaus.

As a veteran of four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, I am angered at Trump’s total disregard for our military. His focus is himself and making money.

As May approaches, it is time for another primary election. This year, we have three Maga Republicans running for the East Penn School Board. It is important to pay attention to the real education candidates because of cross filing. They are Melissa Stiavelli, Ritz Perez, William Whitney and Christine Price.

Make a difference in May by protecting the education of our children. Vote for the real education candidates.
