Boys tennis extends win streak to eight matches

The Parkland boys tennis team won three matches last week and another early this week, all by shutout, to extend its winning streak to eight straight matches.

The Trojans (9-1 overall; 7-1 East Penn Conference) have not lost since falling to unbeaten Liberty, 4-2 on March 14.

Parkland beat Southern Lehigh 7-0 last Thursday, March 27, in a nonleague match.

Derek Yao, Manav Patel and Kevin Yao won singles matches against the Spartans. Eddy Zhang and Jayden Yao won the No. 1 doubles match. Jack Chu and Jacky Zhang won the No. 2 doubles match. Gabe Morse and Eric Zager took the third doubles match and Noah Elijovich and Matthew Huang won at fourth doubles for Parkland.

In a 7-0 win over East Stroudsburg South on Monday, Derek Yao, Patel and Kevin Yao won singles matches, all by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

The Parkland doubles teams of Pranav Senthilkumar and Matthew Huang, Chu and Jacky Zhang and Zager and Morse won matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores, while Elijovich and Diyoon Kim won their doubles match 6-0, 6-1.

Individual match scores from Parkland’s 6-0 wins over Pocono Mountain East and Whitehall were not received by the Press.
